An Expanded Session of the Synod of Bishops Begins
On Thursday, December 7, at 10:30 am, an expanded session of the Synod of Bishops began, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus. Participating in this session will be Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany; Archbishop Hilarion of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand; Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America; Bishop Evtikhii of Ishim and Siberia; Bishop Michael of Geneva and Western Europe; Bishop Daniel of Erie; Bishop Gabriel of Manhattan; Bishop Agapit of Stuttgart and Bishop Peter of Cleveland. In addition to ongoing matters, the Synod of Bishops will examine the proposals of the Commissions on the time, place and rite of the entry of the two parts of the Russian Orthodox Church into Eucharistic communion, which was formulated at the last session of the Commissions on October 24-26 in Cologne.
