The Services of His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus On July 30, His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus celebrated Divine Liturgy at St Vladimir Memorial Church of the Millennium of the Baptism of Russia in Jackson, NJ, along with Mitred Protopriest Boris Kizenko and his assistant, Priest Sergei Ledkovsky, as well as other clergymen of the local deanery of the Diocese of Eastern America and New York. Afterwards, His Eminence gave a sermon in which he urged everyone to emulate St Vladimir, who became completely transformed after accepting the Faith in Christ and who taught our forefathers love, kindness and holiness.
The following day, His Eminence Vladyka officiated at all-night vigil with an akathist at St Seraphim Church in Sea Cliff, NY, along with Protopriest Andrei Semyanko, Protopriest Andrei Sommer, Priest Serafim Gan, Hieromonk Roman (Krassovsky) and Priest Alexandre Antchoutine, along with Archdeacon Eugene Burbelo, Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff, Protodeacon Paul Wolkow, Protodeacon Thomas Reske, Deacon Dimitri Temidis and Deacon Nicholas Olhovsky. The following morning, during Divine Liturgy, His Eminence gave a deeply-emotional archpastoral sermon in which he noted the importance for the Russian people of the spiritual podvig of St Seraphim, and wished that everyone also preserved the Paschal joy, so that the life of Russian Orthodox Christians would always shine with the Life-Bearing Sepulchre of the Lord, illuminating all people and making this world a little bit brighter. In addition to the great number of worshipers, also praying at the service were Protopriest Leonid Kishkovsky, Rector of the neighboring Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Sea Cliff (Orthodox Church in America), and the Treasurer of the Synod of Bishops Protopriest Peter Holodny. On August 5, His Eminence prayed at all-night vigil at the populous St Seraphim's Camp. Here Vladyka was able to spend time with the clergymen, parents and children.
On August 6, His Eminence celebrated Divine Liturgy at St Panteleimon Chapel in Kittatinny, NJ, which has been in existence for almost 45 years. After the service, the worshipers were offered a splendid trapeza at the home of MS Ryl, the Warden of the chapel and also of St Seraphim Church in Sea Cliff, NY.
