His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus Departs for the Holy Land This Week

On August 17, His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus will travel to the Holy Land. This pilgrimage, the first made by His Eminence as First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, will include visiting holy sites; meetings with His Holiness Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine and other individuals. His schedule includes the celebration of the 100 th anniversary of Ascension of the Savior Convent on the Mount of Olives. His Eminence Vladyka will be accompanied by Priest Serafim Gan, Protodeacon Victor Lochmatov, Deacon Nicholas Olhovsky and Hierodeacon Kiprian.
