Communique from the Chancery of the Primate of the Russian Church Abroad

In connection with the diamond anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Anthony (Khrapovitsky) of blessed memory (+August 10, 1936), the first of the Primates of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, the brother archpastors and clergymen of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion’s dioceses are called upon to prayerfully commemorate the late hierarch of the Russian diaspora at the end of Divine Liturgy on the coming Sunday, preceding it with a sermon.  

Let us pray for the repose of the blessed Metropolitan Anthony, and that the Lord Chief Pastor continues to create new pastors who worthily continue the work of this great bishop of the Universal Church, as His Holiness Patriarch Varnava of Serbia referred to him. Let us also attempt once more to bring our attention to our history and our ecclesiastical roots in order to nourish our souls with the legacy of our fathers.
