The Cathedral of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” Celebrates its Feast Day
On Sunday, November 6, 2011, the feast day of Moscow’s Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow,” His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, officiated at Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in San Francisco. The Cathedral Choir sang joyously under the direction of Vladimir Krassovsky.
At the end of Liturgy and the moleben with procession of the cross that followed, Vladyka Kyrill pointed out the efforts of Andrei Sergeevich Kuzubov, an active church figure in the Western American Diocese, and awarded him the Diocesan Medal of St John of the Third Order. The sisterhood prepared a reception to celebrate the occasion for all in attendance. Below are photographs of the event taken by M. Moiseev.
