The Namesday of Bishop John of Caracas and South America is Celebrated at Buenos Aires’ Holy Resurrection Cathedral
On Saturday, July 7, 2012, the feast day of the Nativity of John the Baptist, His Grace Bishop John of Caracas and South America celebrated Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy Resurrection in Buenos Aires, joined by Protopriest Igor Bulatov and Protodeacon Nikolai Radysh. In his sermon, Vladyka John noted that contemporary historical and archeological research has confirmed many facts and events described in the Gospel. Still, despite this, there is no need to assume a strict chronology to one date or another relating to our Christian holidays, for their main essence are in their meaning and content. At the end of Divine Liturgy, Protodeacon Nikolai intoned Many Years to Bishop John to mark his namesday.
After the veneration of the cross, a trapeza was offered at the Cathedral hall for the archpastor, his clergymen and flock.
