On August 9th, 2012 the Minneapolis parish celebrated the Feast Day of its saint. The Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon is venerated all over the Orthodox world and is held in particular esteem by the Russian Orthodox faithful as a great intercessor for those who are ill. Celebrations in Minneapolis were headed by two hierarchs - His Grace Bishop John of Caracas and South America and His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland. Concelebrating with the two hierarchs were clergy from the cathedral, nieghboring parishes and other parishes in the diocese including: V.Rev Andre Papkov (Dean of the diocese), V.Rev. John Sokolyuk (Rockford, IL), V.Rev Vasyl Kuzmych (Milwaukee, WI), V.Rev John Poptelecan (Romanian Patriarchate) and Rev. Antony Alekseyenko (Rector) and Protodeacon Basil Gilliland. V.Rev. Andrew Morbey and Deacon Gregory Ealy (OCA) joined for Moleben and Cross procession after the Divine Liturgy.
An icon of Saint Panteleimon with his relics was carried out to the middle of the church during Polieleos from the Altar. The icon was present in church during the festivities. Notwithstanding the fact that the feast day fell during the work week, a great number of parishioners partook of the Holy Mysteries. Following the Divine LIturgy, the Sisterhood of the parish prepared a meal in honor of the festivities.
