On November 20, 2013, the eve of the feast day of Archangel Michael and the Heavenly Bodiless Powers, His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America and His Grace Bishop Nikolai of Nakhodka and Preobrazhensk led all-night vigil at Kazan Cathedral in the city of Nakhodka, Russia. Joining the hierarchs were clergymen of the Nakhodka Diocese and the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia: Protopriest Vladimir Boikov, Dean of New Zealand of ROCOR; Protopriest Serafim Gan, Secretary of the First Hierarch of ROCOR; Priest Nicholas Olhovsky, caretaker of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign," and Protodeacon Alexander Kotliaroff of SS Peter and Paul Cathedral in Sydney, Australia (ROCOR). During vigil, over a thousand residents of Nakhodka venerated the miracle-working Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign.” Before the service, the delegation of ROCOR was taken on an excursion through the city. They visited the viewing area of Astafiev Bridge, the Church of the Nativity of Christ, and brought flowers to the monument “Grieving Mother.”
