The Fortieth Anniversary of the Repose of Protopriest Rostislav Gan of Blessed Memory
“Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation” (Hebrews 13:7).
This year, the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia will prayerfully mark the 40th anniversary of the death of Protopriest Rostislav Gan. A preeminent pastor and renowned scholar of Liturgics, Fr Rostislav served in the Russian Orthodox Church in Shanghai, Hailar and Harbin, China, before settling in Australia, where he served as Rector of Holy Protection Church in Cabramatta, NSW, for over 20 years.
Matins will be served on December 7, 2015, at 6:00 pm.
Liturgy will begin at 8:30 am on December 8 with the greeting of His Grace Bishop George of Canberra, followed by a panikhida.
A memorial luncheon will follow at the church hall, at which some of the senior clergymen of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia will share their recollections of Fr Rostislav, his thoughts and life’s work.
