DIOCESE OF AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND: 10 November 2022
Feast day at Our Lady of Kazan Convent in Australia is celebrated by Russian and Serbian hierarchs and clergy

On November 4, the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, one of the most venerated icons in Russia. It is also celebrated as the Day of National Unity in Russia. On this day in 2022, hierarchs, clergy and a multitude of worshipers gathered at Our Lady of Kazan Convent in Kentlyn (near Sydney), Australia for its feast day.

Known as "Novoye Shamordino," the convent has been headed by Abbess Maria (Miros) since 2006.

This year, His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada visited and celebrated divine services along with His Grace Bishop George of Australia and New Zealand, His Grace Bishop Silouan of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and many worshipers of the Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches.
