Rite of Forgiveness at the Cathedral of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in San Francisco

On the evening of March 17, 2024, Cheesefare Sunday, the commemoration of Adam's exile (Forgiveness Sunday), His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, prayed at the evening service, leading the Rite of Forgiveness at the Cathedral of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in San Francisco, CA. His Eminence was co-served by the clergy of the diocese.

The hymns were sung by the cathedral choir under the direction of Vladimir Krassovsky.

Vladyka Kyrill read prayers for the beginning of Great Lent, and then asked forgiveness from the brethren and parishioners of the cathedral.

On this day, according to tradition, all Orthodox Christians ask each other for forgiveness.
