The First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad celebrates the first Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts this year

On March 20, 2024, Wednesday of the first week of Great Lent, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York prayed at the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign” in New York City, and then officiated at the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts. Concelebrating with His Eminence were Archpriest Andrei Sommer, Vice President of the Synodal Youth Department, Dean of the Cathedral; Archpriest Serafim Gan, Chancellor of the Synod of Bishops and Secretary of the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and Hieromonk Zosima (Krampis), Rector of the English-speaking community of the Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign,” accompanied by Protodeacon Serge Arlievsky and Deacon Nikolai Ilyin.

Greeting the worshipers at the end of the service, His Eminence, expressing gratitude to God for the opportunity to pray at the services of the first week of Great Lent, wished everyone a fruitful passage in order to meet and celebrate Holy Pascha with dignity.
