The keys to Seifriedsberg Castle are solemnly handed over to the monastic brotherhood of St Job of Pochaev

On Sunday, November 10, 2024, the Monastery of St Job of Pochaev of the German Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia solemnly celebrated the receipt of the keys to Seifriedsberg Castle in Bavaria.

About 500 believers arrived from all over the country to take part in the first prayer service at the walls of the future monastery.

Among the participants in the celebration were His Eminence Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany, His Grace Bishop Job of Stuttgart, the brethren of the monastery of St Job of Pochaev in Munich, clergymen, numerous parishioners of various parishes of the German Diocese, benefactors of the monastery, as well as representatives of local authorities.

Bishop Job of Stuttgart thanked all those present. "A new chapter has begun both for Orthodoxy in Germany as a whole and for Seifriedsberg Castle, which has been in disrepair for many years," said His Grace Job. In his speech, Bishop Job also said that in the near future specialists will draw up detailed plans of the premises and accurate planning of work in the castle will begin.
