Metropolitan Nicholas receives Bishop Clement of Leucia
On Friday, April 11, 2025, on the eve of Lazarus Saturday, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and His Grace Bishop Clement of Leucia (Bulgarian Orthodox Church) prayed at divine services and vespers with Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts, celebrated by Archpriest Andrei Sommer, Dean of the Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign,” at the lower Church of St Sergius of Radonezh at the Synodal Residence in New York City.
At the end of the service, His Eminence welcomed His Grace on the conclusion of the Forty-Day Great Lent, wishing him a peaceful Passion Week and a joyful greeting of the Risen Christ. Metropolitan Nicholas then invited Bishop Clement to his quarters, where breakfast was served. During the lenten trapeza, the archpastors discussed pressing issues of church life in the USA and inter-Orthodox relations. At the end of the meeting, the hierarchs exchanged souvenirs.
Also participating in the meeting were Fr Andrei and Archpriest Serafim Gan.
