Bishop Job of Stuttgart visits the shrines of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in New York State while working on the third film about the restoration of the historical building of the Synod of Bishops

On Friday, August 29, 2025, the feast of the Translation of the Savior Not Made by Hands from Edessa to Constantinople, His Grace Bishop Job of Stuttgart, Vicar of the German Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, arrived in New York accompanying the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God “of the Sign.” The miraculous image was greeted at the Synodal residence by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad. After venerating the Shroud of the Mother of God and other relics of the Cathedral and the lower Chapel of St Sergius, His Grace proceeded to the residence of the First Hierarch, where a fraternal meeting took place. That same evening, a dinner was held in honor of the distinguished guest, attended by both archpastors, staff members of the Chancery of the Archdiocesan Synod, and other guests.

The next day, Bishop Job, accompanying the Primate, headed to the Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY, where he participated in the celebrations dedicated to the nationwide commemoration of the heavenly patron of the brotherhood — the Venerable Job, coinciding with the civil celebration of Labor Day. There was a procession from the Dormition Church at the monastery cemetery to Holy Trinity Cathedral with a miraculous copy of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God, brought from Pochaev by the renowned future hierarch Archimandrite Vitaly (Maximenko). After that, a moleben with an akathist to St Job was celebrated, along with a small vespers with the rite for Holy Communion. After the evening meal, a festive all-night vigil was held.

On Sunday, August 31, on the 12th Sunday after Pentecost and the day of remembrance of the Martyrs Flor and Laurus of Illyria, on the namesday of the ever-memorable Metropolitan Lavr, Metropolitan Nicholas led the service of the Divine Liturgy in the same Holy Trinity Cathedral of the monastery, assisted by Bishop Luke of Syracuse and Bishop Stuttgart Job, the brethren of the monastery, seminary teachers, and guests in holy orders. In the middle of the temple were the holy relics: the Korenno-Kursk and Pochaev Icons of the Mother of God and the image of the Venerable Iov, abbot and miracle-worker of Pochaev, the patron of the printing brotherhood, which for many years was headed by the late Metropolitan Lavr, who inherited this ministry from his elder — Archbishop Vitaly (Maximenko). After the divine service, there was a moleben with a cross procession around the cathedral. After kissing the cross, everyone was offered lunch in the monastery refectory, and pilgrims could freely walk around the monastery grounds.

The pilgrimage to the Holy Trinity Monastery during the civil holidays that mark the end of summer in the USA continued with a Divine Liturgy performed in the hierarchical rite on Monday morning.

On Tuesday morning, September 2, Metropolitan Nicholas and Bishop Job prayed during the Divine Liturgy held at St Sergius Chapel in New York, and then began working on his third film documenting the restoration of this historical building. On that day, as they started work on the facade, workers began installing scaffolding around the Synodal Residence.
